Hello, my name is Dalton!

I always knew I wanted to be a designer,
but I took a roundabout way.
I am a CMF + Graphic Designer based out of Massachusetts,
where I was born and raised.

When I was a child I dreamt of becoming a chef, an artist, or a basketball player. I still love food and basketball, however, design was calling me. In high school I got my first job working retail, selling sneakers. After graduating from a high school that didn't have an art program,
I decided to go to Middlesex Community College (MCC) for Business Administration and I later received an Associate's in 2018. In 2016, I earned a promotion at work and became a retail store manager. After a few years at store manager, I realized something was still missing. Don't get me wrong I loved my job, but I still felt that I had untapped potential. I knew I always had a passion for art + design, but never thought I could pursue it and maintain a living — until I learned about graphic design. I took a leap of faith and demoted myself at work to pursue a graphic design career. I applied to University of Massachusetts, Lowell (UML) in 2019 and graduated in 2022. It's the best decision I've ever made.
I am passionate about all things art + design. Music, packaging, posters, UI/UX, footwear/sportswear, and motion graphics are just a few things that I find inspiring. I have spent years in the footwear industry and have amassed a collection of sneakers. They are a key component in my decision to shift to a design career. I am also inspired by album covers. As much as I hate to admit it, I judge music by their covers sometimes.
I have worked for the University Gallery at UML as a design intern, creating printed and digital advertising material for visiting artists from around the world.
