For this project I sketched an area of my bedroom by observation. I sketched it, then sketched the sketch, and kept repeating until I had 10 sketches derivative of the first one. Then, I used black acrylic paint on mylar to prepare the design for the screens. I had a mylar painted for light gray, medium gray, and black.
Once I burned the screens with the design on the mylar, I started to screenprint from lightest to darkest. The result is a simplified, yet whimsical screenprinted version of an observed area on my room.
